Valentine's Weekend "Evening of Mystery" February 13-15, 2009 Gentlemen! (or their Valentine) Searching for a memorable Valentine's weekend for the woman in your life? Here's how to make it "memorable" without the stress of arranging all the details that make it memorable! As Valentine's Weekend "Evening of Mystery" guests, you will have time to spend alone; time to explore the Skagit Valley; and time to gather with others for an entertaining mystery that unfolds over a splendid dinner! Upon registration, you will receive your "dinner identities", along with costume suggestions (costumes can be simple or elaborate! Often one or two items of clothing or jewelry are all that is needed to protray your character. Enjoy "dress up"? You may choose to be more creative with your costuming.) You'll also learn about the other "suspects" you'll meet at dinner Saturday evening. That's all you'll need to do before arriving. Special Gifts And upon arrival Friday evening, imagine how delighted she will be to discover champagne, a long stemmed red rose and gourmet chocolates waiting in your room at one of the valley's most romantic inns. Romantic dinner You can then escort her to dinner (included, but not alcoholic beverages) at a fine dining restaurant. The rest of the evening's entertainment is up to you . . . .The day is yours You can view bald eagles feeding along the Skagit River, drive quiet country roads enjoying the pastoral scenery, or perhaps turn towards La Conner and its many unique shops. The quilt museum will be featuring work by world renowned fabric/knit artist kaffe Fassett. Tour the art museum or browse in a charming book store. Many walking paths are a short drive from the inn, offering lovely views of water and mountains. Would she enjoy a massage or other spa treatment? That can be arranged! Special discounts will be available for "Evening of Mystery" guests. The day is yours to spend with as much - or as little - activity as you prefer. "Evening of Mystery" The fun begins at 7 p.m. when the "suspects" are introduced over appetizers in the living area of the inn. You'll be given your script (there is no need to memorize lines! You'll just read along, questioning and dropping "hints", and revealing clues as guided by your hostess. This is just for fun, and no real acting ability is required - just a desire to have fun and laugh a lot) and the mystery unfolds between courses of a sumptuous meal. At the conclusion, when the mystery is solved, "critique" over dessert. It couldn't be easier - or more fun! A Valentine's Weekend "Evening of Mystery" is a perfect combination of romance and fun.
